King Charles III to Receive Scottish Crown Jewels Amid Speculation Over Swollen Hands

King Charles III is set to be formally presented with the Scottish crown jewels today in Edinburgh, following his coronation ceremony in Westminster Abbey on 6 May. However, as the former Prince of Wales prepares for this special ceremony, speculation has arisen over the appearance of his hands.

Photos of the King’s hands have sparked concern among fans of the royal family, with some noting that his fingers appear excessively red and swollen. Medical experts have suggested that this swelling could be due to a condition called oedema, which causes fluid retention in the arms, hands, ankles, feet, and/or legs.

Interestingly, the King’s hands have been a topic of discussion since his birth, with his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, noting their unique appearance in a letter to her music teacher. King Charles himself has also made light-hearted references to his “sausage fingers” in the past.

The speculation over the King’s hands has been ongoing, with photos from previous events, such as a visit to Clapham Old Town in South London and a trip to India, also showing visible swelling. Despite the attention on his hands, King Charles III continues to carry out his royal duties with pride and enthusiasm.
