Trump is ahead of Biden in Georgia and 6 other battleground states, new poll reveals

Trump Leads Biden in Georgia and Other Battleground States: New Poll Results

Former President Donald Trump, currently embroiled in a historic New York criminal trial, has surged ahead of President Joe Biden in Georgia and six other battleground states, according to a new poll from Emerson College Polling/The Hill.

In Georgia, Trump leads by three points with 47 percent to Biden’s 44 percent, leaving 8 percent undecided. The race is tight in Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, with Trump holding a slight edge within the margin of error in each state.

The poll surveyed 1,000 registered voters in each state, with a margin of error of plus/minus 3 percent, conducted from April 25-29, 2024.

Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, noted that the share of undecided voters has decreased since tracking began last November. Biden has gained ground in Georgia and Nevada, narrowing the gap, while Trump has maintained a slight lead in the swing states.

The upcoming presidential election is shaping up to be a rematch between Biden and Trump, with both candidates polling well within the margins of error. Georgia, a key battleground state, is expected to play a crucial role in the outcome of the election.

In 2020, Biden narrowly won Georgia by less than 12,000 votes, making it a highly contested state for the upcoming election. The race between the two candidates is expected to be a virtual toss-up, setting the stage for an historic rematch of their 2020 campaigns.

As the election season heats up, both Biden and Trump are gearing up for a fierce battle for the presidency, with Georgia at the forefront of the political scene. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
