‘Our chances of winning are uncertain’

Former President Donald Trump Discusses Political Violence, Abortion Policy, and Immigration Plans in New Interview with Time Magazine

Former President Donald Trump recently sat down for a new interview with Time magazine, where he made some controversial statements regarding the upcoming 2024 election. Trump expressed confidence in his chances of winning, stating that he doesn’t believe there will be political violence surrounding the election, but added that it “always depends on the fairness of an election.”

One of the most shocking statements Trump made during the interview was his willingness to consider pardoning every person who has been charged or convicted for rioting at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. This comes after Trump repeatedly claimed the 2020 election was “rigged” and rallied his followers against the certification of the results.

Trump also addressed his stance on abortion policy, stating that he believes it should be left up to the states to decide. When pressed on whether women’s pregnancies should be monitored by state governments to prevent abortions after a certain timeline, Trump dodged the question, saying, “I think they might do that.”

On the topic of immigration, Trump reiterated his campaign promise to use the U.S. military to remove undocumented immigrants from the country. He also suggested using the National Guard and potentially going even further to address immigration issues, claiming that undocumented immigrants are not civilians but rather an “invasion” of the country.

In response to Trump’s statements, the Biden campaign criticized his record and rhetoric, calling his immigration policies cruel and anti-American. Trump’s comments on international affairs, including his stance on NATO countries paying their fair share and his views on the Israel-Palestine conflict, also sparked controversy.

Overall, Trump’s interview with Time magazine shed light on his controversial views and promises for the future, setting the stage for what could be a contentious 2024 election.
