Arizona Senate hopeful Kari Lake dismisses reports of rift with Trump

Arizona Senate hopeful Kari Lake has pushed back against recent reports suggesting tensions between her and former President Donald Trump. The Washington Post claimed that Trump has doubts about Lake’s electoral chances and is annoyed by her frequent visits to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

Lake, a staunch Trump supporter, has been vocal about her belief in the former president’s claims of election fraud in the 2020 presidential election. Despite her claims not being supported by evidence, Lake remains steadfast in her support for Trump.

Taking to Twitter to address the reports, Lake stated, “My friendship with the Greatest President in American History has never been stronger!” She warned her supporters about the efforts of the “Fake News” to divide them ahead of the 2024 election.

The Republican Party has yet to select its Senate candidate to run against the presumptive Democratic nominee Ruben Gallego in Arizona. While Sheriff Mark Lamb is also running against Lake, he currently trails her in the polls.

Trump’s reported concerns about Lake’s ability to win Arizona and their alleged rift have raised questions within the Republican Party. Despite these reports, Lake recently attended a fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago, indicating that any tensions between her and Trump are not publicly visible.

In response to the reports, a statement issued by Trump campaign spokesman Jason Miller praised Lake as a “Smart and Fearless Leader” who will help Republicans regain control of the Senate. The statement also criticized Gallego as an “Open Borders RADICAL” who is weak on inflation, terrorists, and crime.

As the race for the Arizona Senate seat heats up, all eyes will be on Lake and her relationship with Trump as they navigate the challenges of the campaign trail.
