Exciting Races to Keep an Eye on – NBC Chicago

Indiana’s 2024 Primary Election: Key Races to Watch

As Indiana’s primary election approaches on May 7, Hoosiers are gearing up to choose candidates for governor, the U.S. Senate, and other important statewide positions. This year’s election is particularly significant as both incumbent Gov. Eric Holcomb and Sen. Mike Braun have decided not to seek reelection.

In the race for governor, several Republicans are vying for the nomination, including former state auditor and Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, former Attorney General Curtis Hill, Eric Doden, and Jamie Reitenour. On the Democratic side, Jennifer McCormick, a former teacher and the state’s superintendent for public instruction, is running unopposed.

In the U.S. Senate race, Rep. Jim Banks is the lone Republican candidate, while former State Rep. Marc Carmichael and Dr. Valerie McGray are competing on the Democratic side.

Incumbent Republican AG Todd Rokita is running unopposed for a second term, while Destiny Scott Wells and Beth White will face off in the Democratic nominating convention.
