Candidates Address Unincorporated Maricopa Residents in Bid for Votes

Pinal County candidates Kevin Cavanaugh and Brad Miller made their case to unincorporated Maricopa residents last week, hoping to secure their votes in the upcoming election cycle. The two candidates faced tough questions from constituents on issues such as immigration, border security, and why they believe they are better suited for the job than the incumbents.

Cavanaugh, who recently announced his bid for Pinal County sheriff, emphasized his qualifications and conservative values during the meeting. He pledged to increase patrolling in rural areas to address concerns about human and drug trafficking, as well as to address election issues and protect second amendment rights. Despite labeling himself as “the most conservative candidate,” Cavanaugh stressed the importance of keeping law enforcement free from political influence.

On the other hand, Miller, who is running against Pinal County Attorney Kent Volkmer, highlighted his experience as a prosecutor and his commitment to representing rural communities. He promised to crack down on issues such as child trafficking and drug problems, while also advocating for the preservation of the rural way of life. Miller expressed his desire to be a voice for the rural areas that often feel overlooked in county decisions.

Both candidates made compelling arguments for why they should be elected to serve the residents of Pinal County. As the election draws near, voters in unincorporated Maricopa will have to weigh their options carefully to determine who will best represent their interests in the county government.
